The 4th Annual Black Friday Tournament

The 4th annual Black Friday Corn Hole Tournament is upon us – November 24th @ 3PM.  This is an invitation only tournament and you need to register ahead of time to ensure we have an even number of players. Bags, bond fires, blues, beer, bratwursts & bragging rights.

King Bunkers & Cowboy will defend the thrown, while the lesser of men will draw a random partner in an attempt to dethrone them in the last competitive tourney of the year. We will play regardless of how cold or windy it may be. Rain/Snow date will be Saturday, November 25th. We draw teams at 3PM sharp from those that register and show. The first two games will commence at 3:45PM.

Official Rules

SCORING:  To ensure scores are kept properly, each match will have a witness who will be tracking each team’s points/stats throughout the match. There will be no clearing of the boards until the score has been tallied.  Play to 21, win by 2.  We don’t play the go over 21 rule resets your score.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION:  This is a double elimination tournament.  If you lose twice, you’re out.  There will be a separate playoff for the teams that don’t win a single game in order to be crowned the 2022 Shit Bowl Champion.

BAGS:  We will have five sets of pro ACL stick/slick side style bags available.  Your team can choose whatever set suits you or bring your own.  Two different sets of bags are allowed in one match.  For example, one team can throw Slide-Rite brand and the other can throw Jekyll & Slyde brand.

PLAYER POSITIONING WHEN THROWING:  Players on the same team will face each other when throwing; one on the left side of the board and one on the right side of the board.  You choose who throws left or right side.

WARM UPS:  One round each side

SEEDING/DRAW:  TBD

TIME OUTS: Each time is allowed two time-outs to walk the other side and inspect the bag layout before their next throw.

WHO THROWS FIRST?  A coin or bag toss (heads or tails) will determine who goes first in each game.

The Black Friday Sports Book

For this year’s festive activities, we are going to cattle auction off each participant in the Black Friday Tournament.  Once you purchase an individual player’s profile, it is yours to do with as you wish.  At the closure of the tournament, if any of the player profiles you purchased pre-tournament finish in one of the payout positions listed below, you can collect that percentage of the final pot.

We will not know the final pot size, the respective payouts or the odds for each prop bet until the final player is purchased.

Auction rules:

  • Each daily auction (with exception of Black Friday) will end at 9:00 PM.
  • If a bid is made in the final 5 minutes of the auction, that particular player (NOT all players for that day) will have their deadline extended by 10 minutes.
  • The opening bid for each player is $1.00 and every incremental bid must be as a value divisible by. $0.50.  For example, if the current price for a player is $2.50, any of the following bids are acceptable; $3.00, $5.00, $3.50, $10.00.  Bids not acceptable would be another bid of $2.50.  A bid of $2.51.  A bid of $2.99.  A bid of $10.35.

For Day 1 through 5, the auction will be a cattle-style auction via group text.  Day 6 will be a cattle style auction in person, at Ryan’s house prior to drawing teams.

All transactions are final!  Please bring your cash for purchased players to the Black Friday Tournament, as well as any additional cash you may want to spend on the day 6 participants to be auctioned off.

Sports Book Common Questions

  1. “Can I form a team of 2, 3 or more players and purchase players?”

Only one person can make a winning bid.  That person is responsible for paying for the claim ticket at the time of auction.  Whoever presents the claim ticket after the tournament will receive the payout.

  1. “If I purchase a player and don’t like the teammate he drew, can I sell my purchase to someone else?”

Only one person can make a winning bid.  That person is responsible for paying for the claim ticket at the time of auction.  Whoever presents the claim ticket after the tournament will receive the payout.

Example 1: If John Doe purchases a claim ticket for $50.00 on a player and wants to sell that claim ticket for $30.00 and take a $20 loss, he is welcome to do so.  The individual submitting the claim ticket at the end will receive the payout.

Example 2: If John Doe purchases a claim ticket for $1.00 on a player and that player is a Cinderella story and goes the finals, John Doe is welcome to sell his claim ticket for $10.00 to Bob McDoodle and pocket his $9.00 winnings, he is welcome to.  At which point Bob McDoodle will own the claim ticket and any payouts resulting from that (player) claim ticket at the end of the tournament.

The individual submitting the claim ticket at the end will receive the payout.
